Dharmendra Reminisces About Dilip Kumar’s Blessing On Sunny Deol’s Debut Film 'Betaab'

Veteran actor Dharmendra shared a cherished memory on social media when Dilip Kumar visited the mahurat of son Sunny Deol's debut movie "Betaab".
Dharmendra posted a black and white photograph on Instagram of Dilip Kumar playfully punching Sunny's cheek, while Sunny smiles.
The veteran actor recalled that Dilip Kumar gave his blessings to Sunny during the mahurat of his first project. "Dalip saheb ka pyaar bhara duayen dete haath Sunny ko film BETAB ke mahurat par hi naseeb ho gaya tha," Dharmendra wrote.
Rahul Rawail's "Betaab" also marked the acting debut of actress Amrita Singh. The 1983 romantic entertainer was loosely based on William Shakespeare’s "The Taming Of The Shrew."
Released on August 5, 1983 "Betaab" was a huge commercial success and went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year. It was later even remade in Telugu as "Samrat", and in Kannada with the name "Karthik".
Shifting to the present, Sunny recently delivered another blockbuster with his last release, "Jaat". Overwhelmed by the response to the film, Sunny assured that "Jaat 2" will be even better.
Taking to his IG, Sunny dropped a video expressing his gratitude. “You have given so much love to my film ‘Jaat’, I promise ‘’Jaat 2’ will be even better. I often come to the mountains to unwind because I love being surrounded by the grandeur of nature. I’ll leave for the shoot of ‘Border 2’ in a few days. Love you,” he said.
Sunny further penned a note that read, “Aapka pyaar hi hai meri taqat. Aap sab ka josh hi hai meri safalta. Keep loving #Jaat and I feel overwhelmed and blessed seeing all the videos of you all celebrating #Jaat and Cinema! Keep ‘em coming and share them with me, your love and emotions is what has made #Jaat a success”.
