Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss Season 18’ premiered on October 6 and featured an eclectic cast of contestants, including a popular fitness celebrity Rajat Dalal. For the unversed, Rajat Dalal became famous for his controversies in the past and a large internet following. Salman Khan mentioned Dalal's background in his introduction, saying he has won 14 medals for India in powerlifting.

Rajat Dalal, who was born on January 12, 1996, in Faridabad, belongs to an affluent family and has accomplished a great deal in powerlifting, including breaking the world record in deadlifting. The public is interested in Rajat Dalal's extravagant lifestyle and controversial history. He often posts fitness-related videos on social media platforms, which is his main source of income. He has an estimated net worth of Rs 16.8 crore.

Here’s a look at some of the viral controversies surrounding Rajat Dalal:

Reckless Driving Controversy

In August this year, footage surfaced showing Rajat Dalal reportedly hitting a motorcyclist at 143 km/h. In the video, he brushed off the event as ordinary. He said, “Wo gir gaya, koi baat nahi. Roz ka kaam hai.” After this, he was subject to legal consequences for careless driving since a video of him continuing to drive after the accident went viral, adding fuel to the fire.

Assaulting A Teenage Boy

After an argument over a video escalated into physical violence, Rajat Dalal abducted and assaulted the teenage boy. In Ahmedabad, he was taken into custody on charges of kidnapping.

MS Dhoni Snub

In the Entertainers Cricket League (ECL), Dalal caused a sensation when he left cricket legend MS Dhoni off the list of desired players for his team, the Haryanvi Hunters.

Notably, in the Entertainers Cricket League (ECL), Rajat Dalal wore jersey number 7. He later clarified that MS Dhoni had nothing to do with his choice of jersey number; it was entirely a personal decision.

Beats Alleged "Fake" Sadhus on Camera

Rajat Dalal once released a video attacking three people dressed as sadhus—whom he later claimed were "fake" babas. After they failed Rajat Dalal's test of their spiritual credentials—reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and Gayatri Mantra—he physically attacked them on camera and had them slap each other. The video later sparked outrage from the public.

Conflict between Rajat Dalal and CarryMinati

The conflict between CarryMinati and Dalal intensified when the YouTuber put out a roast video mocking Rajat Dalal, calling him "Mighty Raju." CarryMinati compared Dalal's behaviour to that of a rebellious toddler and condemned an instance in which he persisted in photographing inside a McDonald's despite orders to stop.

In response to the video's rising popularity, Rajat Dalal demanded that CarryMinati take down his part and apologise. Surprisingly, CarryMinati removed Dalal's segment from the video and made it clear that he intended for it to be entertaining, not offensive.

Also, Rajat publicly backed Elvish Yadav in a video-related incident earlier in July, which led to a feud with Ajaz Khan.

While speaking with Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 18, Rajat said, "I never take the initiative. I only answer back, reflecting on his past disputes.
