New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, Tahira Kashyap, is making her directorial debut with the film 'Sharmajee Ki Beti', set to release on June 28. In a recent interview with the Indian Express, Tahira discussed the guilt many women feel when prioritizing their careers over family responsibilities.

She emphasized the societal pressure women face compared to men in balancing work and family life, stating, “I was having this conversation the other day about how we ask women how they manage everything when they have children.”

Tahira Kashyap says men should also be responsible for managing family

Tahira pointed out that men are rarely asked how they balance their careers and family life. Using her husband, Ayushmann Khurrana, as an example, she suggested he should be questioned about managing three film shoots while caring for their two children at home. “They should be given guilt about all of this, and not just women,” she added.

Tahira shared a personal experience of feeling guilty for missing her son's first musical performance due to a work conference. Even though she managed to attend one of the three shows, she still felt guilty about missing the first one. The 41-year-old filmmaker suggested that men should face similar questions about their priorities, noting that they don’t seem to feel guilty about such choices. “We should keep asking them until they do,” she said.
