New Delhi: Ayesha Jhulka has taken legal action about the mysterious death of her pet dog, Rocky, at Lonavala bungalow, which happened in September 2020. The case involved allegations against her bungalow's caretaker Ram Andre. The legal matter has faced several delays despite having a chargesheet filed in 2021. The case has been has been dragging on in the magistrate court, in Maval, Pune.

The six-year-old dog had been found dead under mysterious circumstances at her Lonavala bungalow in September 2020.


Ayesha Jhulka, known for films like 'Jo Jeeta Wohi SIkandar' and 'Kurbaan' has always been passionate about pets. 


Jhulka became suspicious about Andre's involvement in the death of her pet dog when discrepanices emerged in the explanation of Rocky's death. As per Andre, the dog drowned in a water tank. However, according to the post-mortem report, the dog died of suffocation, and a case under Section 429 ( mischeif of killing, maiming an animal) of the Indian Penal Code was filed against him.


Andre was later arrested in the case and released on bail. Later, the case got delayed and Jhulka, through her advocate Harshad Garud, filed a plea for the court to expedite the trial. She also highlighted the importance of the forensic report, which is yet to be submitted by the police.


Latest development in Ayesha Jhulka pet dog case


In Friday's hearing, Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande's bench instructed Jhulka to approach a single bench for further proceedings.

Ayeshak Jhulka has appeared in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, and Telugu films. The actor's career spanned over three decades, and she worked in over 60 films. 


Jhulka comes from an army family. Ayesha began working as a child artist in the 1983 folm 'Kaise Kaise Log'. Ayesha appeared in several films in the 90s post which she went on a sabbatical. She later starred in films like 'Socha Na Tha' in 2005 and more. She was last seen in 'Happy Family: Conditions Apply'.
