Actress and television personality Archana Puran Singh recently opened up about her close relationship with comedian Kapil Sharma. In a candid interview with SCREEN, Archana reflected on their journey from Comedy Circus to 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', and how their bond has grown stronger over the years.

Kapil Sharma's flamboyance vs his real-life persona

She shared that Kapil, despite his on-screen flamboyance, is actually a very private and reserved person off-screen. “It was Comedy Circus where Kapil was a contestant like the other ten, and our association started then. Who knew it would last this long? It was a bond built on mutual respect. I was his senior and a judge on the show. From my side, the respect for him grew because I saw amazing talent. On Kapil Sharma's real nature

Speaking about Kapil’s private nature, she added, “Kapil is now so comfortable with me… he is not comfortable with nine out of ten people. He’s a very reserved person in his private life. He doesn’t do a lot of publicity or attend parties. When he visits my home, he’s completely at ease. And now, even if I drop in at his place, he’s comfortable—it’s a very casual and warm relationship, built on mutual admiration.”

Archana further explained how their bond is rooted in a shared sense of humor despite different upbringings. “We both enjoy being around each other. We appreciate the same kind of humour. Though our upbringings were completely different, we’ve connected through comedy and found a common platform,” she concluded.

Archana Puran Singh appeared as a special judge on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', which concluded its second season earlier this year.
