New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar offered insights into his fitness philosophy in the most recent episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's well-liked monthly radio show "Mann Ki Baat," encouraging listeners to embrace a natural and holistic approach to staying fit.
Akshay Kumar, who is well-known for his commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle, emphasised the need of forming habits outside of upscale fitness centres. The actor disclosed that he incorporates traditional exercises like the 'Mudgar' into his workout regime, along with outdoor activities like swimming, badminton, climbing stairs, and other sports.
"Many youngsters today avoid consuming ghee due to concerns about potential weight gain, emphasizing the importance of distinguishing between healthy and detrimental choices for fitness." Akshay advised relying on medical guidance rather than being influenced by the physique of celebrities, noting that on-screen appearances can be deceptive due to filters and special effects. The prevalence of shortcuts, such as steroid use for achieving six or eight-pack abs, is criticized, with a warning that such approaches may lead to superficial results and internal hollowness.
The actor urged youngsters to prioritize long-lasting fitness over quick fixes, emphasizing that fitness is akin to a form of discipline, not comparable to instant coffee or two-minute noodles. In the spirit of the New Year, the Khiladi actor encouraged a commitment to a lifestyle devoid of chemicals and shortcuts, promoting activities like exercise, yoga, healthy eating, timely sleep, and meditation.
His message underscores the importance of embracing one's appearance and rejecting the allure of a filtered life in favor of a fitter one. He lastly concluded his speech with a sentiment of self-care with the phrase "Take care. Jai Mahakal."
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in 'Mission Raniganj.' He will next be seen in 'Welcome To The Jungle' and 'Housefull 4.'
