ABP The Southern Rising Summit: Among eminent personalites from the South, actor Khushboo Sundar, best known for her work in Tamil film industry, film producer, TV presenter, BJP party member attended ABP Network's 'The Southern Rising Summit' in Chennai on Thursday, October 12. Khusbhoo Sundar spoke about being a fan of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and the rise of Southern film industry in general, hero worship and more. The round was moderated by journalist Radhika Bajaj.


When moderator Radhika Bajaj asked the veteran actor about Southern cinema making waves at the Oscars and the X factor that was drawing international audiences to the films from South, Khushboo shared, "We are deeply rooted, and we love to wear our heart on our sleeves."


She also shared that the "best thing about the South is that we have accepted Northern cinema, western culture but we still are rooted to our culture."


Khushboo also added that finally, "the North is waking up, when it comes to Indian cinema, South Indian cinema is way ahead-technically, films wise- actors, and all other aspects when it comes to filmmaking."


The veteran actor also added that she is not appreciative of terms like 'Bollywood' 'Tollywood' 'Kollywood' and others and largely recognises the fact that Indian cinema is inclusive of all languages.


The  'Annaatthe' actor added that she was glad to see Hindi films now releasing in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam and recognising the need to cater to audiences of different demographics.


Throwing some light on hero-worshiping over the years in the entertainment industry, she shared that it is also an intrinsic part of the entertainment industry down South.


When she was asked who she is a fan of, Khushboo Sundar added that 'she grew up on Amitabh Bachchan', so there is a poster of him on one side of her wardrobe and on the other, her husband Sundar C's to compensate.


She also added that she is a die-hard Kamal Haasan fan and a Kartik fan.
