Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan to star in Mani Ratnam's next?

In a delightful turn of events, there’s good news for fans from Chennai. Mani Ratnam is reportedly eager to direct a third Hindi film with the iconic duo. The director has finalised the script and is excited to bring the pair back together.

According to an exclusive source quoted by Zoom, “Mani Sir has been searching for the right project for some time. He’s finally found a story he wants to explore with them.”

Mani Ratnam played a major role in the couple’s relationship, as it was during the filming of ‘Guru’ in 2007—released the same year they married—that their bond blossomed. Fans are hopeful that Ratnam’s desire to work with both Aishwarya and Abhishek will help them reconcile their differences, both personally and professionally.

The last time the couple worked with Ratnam was on the 2010 film ‘Raavan’. Ratnam, speaking to Zoom at the time, expressed a special connection with both Aishwarya and Abhishek, stating, "Between them whom am I closer to? That’s a trick question. I feel both Abhishek and Aishwarya are part of my life. After Guru and Ravan, I want to do another film with them so we can complete our hat trick of association."

In a previous interview, Abhishek spoke fondly of his relationship with Mani Ratnam, recalling his excitement when Ratnam personally signed him for Yuva (2004). “When he came to our home to sign me, I thought he wanted Pa (Amitabh Bachchan). I was ecstatic to learn he wanted me. Any actor would give anything to work with Mani, and I’m proud he found me worthy of his films three times,” Abhishek shared.
