He elaborated by saying that they had made a responsible choice to split up and that it had no impact on his formative years. "I think that way they did well. I think it was probably a mature thing to do. I mean two good people aren’t always good together and this way we got, at least I got a childhood with both parents being happy," he said.
Junaid also said that his parents maintained a high priority on family time even after their divorce. He shared, "We meet frequently... We all live within the same 100 metre radius. So we meet often. In fact, every Tuesday evening is family tea. So, mum, Ira, me and dad, sometimes some of us may not be free, but otherwise every Tuesday evening we meet."
Aamir Khan has openly said in previous interviews that he was often absent from his family due to his job obligations. Nevertheless, Junaid made it clear that he was never alone, even if his father was always on the go. "I never felt anything missing because the actor was still there when he needed him," he said.
Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta were married from 1986 to 2002 and have two children, Junaid and Ira. Aamir later married Kiran Rao in 2005, with whom he has a son, Azad, through surrogacy. The couple parted ways in 2021 after 15 years of marriage.
Regarding his career, Junaid Khan debuted as an actor in 2024 with the Netflix film 'Maharaj'.
