BTS Singer Jin Assigned To Front-Line Boot Camp For Military Service
Jin, a member of the K-pop group BTS, will join a front-line Army boot camp to begin his mandatory military service.
Jin, a member of the K-pop group BTS, will start his required military service next month by enrolling in a front-line Army boot camp north of Seoul.
On December 13, the 29-year-old will start boot camp for a front-line Army division at Yeoncheon, which is 60 kilometres north of the capital. Yonhap News Agency reports that the BTS vocalist will partake in a five-week training programme. Jin will be allocated to a regional unit following the basic training.
Following the band's performance last month in the southern port city of Busan, the K-pop star announced his plans to join the military. Every man in South Korea, who is physically capable, must serve in the military for between 18 and 21 months.
The septet's eldest member, who will enlist in the military in December, has confirmed his intention to do so. In the midst of speculations, Jin updated Weverse on Thursday to let his followers know.
In order to safeguard against possibly fatal situations, the South Korean artist also urged his fans, the ARMYs, to avoid visiting the training camps. According to reports, K-Army has been visiting military training facilities ever since the news of Jin's enlistment surfaced.
"There's an article out there that I hadn't planned on being published.. in any case, ARMYs, I ask that you please refrain from coming to the training centre. There will be many other people there and it could get dangerous with a big crowd. Army I love you," Jin wrote on Weverse.
🐹 though an article I didn’t want was posted, our ARMYs should not come to the training baseㅠㅠ
