BTS Singer J-Hope To Enlist In Korean Military On April 18? Here's What BigHit Music Replies

A South Korean news agency, reports that on Tuesday, J-Hope will report to a military base in Gangwon Province to begin his mandatory military service. 

The law in South Korea mandates that all men must serve in the armed forces.

New Delhi: After Jin enrolled in Korean Military in December 2022, it is now J-Hope's turn to make his nation proud by serving in the armed forces. BTS Army has been wondering when J-Hope would enroll in the military. Recently, however, the singer announced that he'd make an appearance on Weverse live before leaving for his commitments. No official statement has been made, but it has been reported that the singer J-Hope will join on April 18.

News1, a South Korean news agency, reports that on Tuesday, J-Hope will report to a military base in Gangwon Province to begin his mandatory military service. 

In response to the news, BTS's management company BigHit Music informed the media that they would neither confirm nor refute the reports. Soompi reports that the agency has stated, “It is difficult for us to confirm the date and location of J-Hope’s enlistment. We ask for your understanding in this regard.” 

For the unversed, the law in South Korea mandates that all men of military age must serve in the armed forces. BTS members first requested a postponement, but the group has been joining their military obligations one by one.

J-Hope, went solo before any of his bandmates by releasing his album ‘Jack in the Box’. The documentary ‘Jack in the Box’ follows the artist as he records his first solo album and prepares for his appearance at Lollapalooza 2023. The documentary is available to watch for Disney+ Hotstar users.

He has performed on a number of awards programmes, including the MAMAs. He made history when he headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago, being the first musician from South Korea to do so. 

BTS Jin (Kim Seokjin), is presently doing his military obligation as required by South Korean law. Several Korean news sites claim that Jin has graduated from the Division Recruit Centre and is currently serving as a commander.
