BTS Boys To Meet US President Joe Biden At The White House To Address Anti-Asian Hate Crimes

Grammy nominated septet, which includes RM, Jin, Suga J-Hope Jimin V Jung Kook will visit the White House on Tuesday, according to Deadline.

New Delhi: South Korean pop group BTS will meet Vice President Joe Biden on May 31 to address anti-Asian hate crimes and to mark Asian American (AA) and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (NHPI) Heritage Month. Grammy nominated septet, which includes RM, Jin, Suga J-Hope Jimin V Jung Kook will visit the White House on Tuesday, according to Deadline.

In the past, BTS has taken a strong stance on the subject of Asian Hate. During the pandemic, anti-Asian hate crimes are on the increase, and BTS made a statement in March 2021 condemning this trend.

"President Biden has previously spoken about his commitment to combating the surge of anti-Asian hate crimes and signed into law the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act in May 2021 to provide law enforcement with resources to identify, investigate, and report hate crimes and ensure that hate crimes information is more accessible to AA and NHPI communities," a statement was released by the White House, the workplace and official house of the President of the United States.

As part of an anti-violence campaign, BTS worked with UNICEF earlier this year. They pledged to support the 2030 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, which include eradicating extreme poverty, protecting the environment, and attaining gender equality.

For the time being, BTS is preparing for the release of their anthology album Proof. On the 10th of June, the new album will be out, including a mix of classic and contemporary hits.
