Vinesh Phogat Vs Kavita Dalal: It's going to be a wrestling bout but in the political arena after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) shared its fourth list of candidates who will be contesting in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. As soon as AAP confirmed the candidate which it was going to field from the Julana constituency, those following the developments couldn't help but notice that it was the WWE wrestler Kavita Dalal who was pitted against Vinesh Phogat of the Indian National Congress (INC).

For the unversed, even though AAP and INC both happened to be members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), AAP and Congress failed to reach an agreement on a seat-sharing arrangement for the Haryana Assembly elections. Soon after, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party releasing its list of candidates.

Who Is Kavita Dalal?

While Vinesh Phogat has been in the news recently especially after the manner in which she secured her way in the Paris Olympics Women's Freestyle 50 kg wrestling final, becoming the first from India to qualify for the gold medal bout, only to get disqualified for being 100 grams overweight. Kavita, meanwhile, is a wrestler who became the first female from India to feature in the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

Interestingly, wrestling isn't the only sport that Kavita has represented the country in. She has even been an international performer in weightlifting, winning a gold medal in the 75 kg category at the 2016 South Asian Games. With both history-scripting athletes up against each other on the political front in Julana, it will quite a Dangal in the Haryana Polls.
