UP Election Result 2022 HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome to ABP Live on the Assembly Election 2022 Counting Day. Follow this space to get all the latest updates, news, reactions from the Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2022 results.

Well, answers to all the questions will be put to final rest today as the counting of votes will start from 8 am onwards.
Besides all eyes on BJP and SP, the focus will also be on parties who are more caste-centric vote base in their approach. With Apna Dal (Sonelal) being the BJP alliance partner for long Nishad Party is the other alliance partner. Samajwadi Party has forged alliances with Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suhuldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal.
If the Exit Polls are to be believed BJP will break the 35-year-long jinx of changing CMs and Party. Predicting on the same line, ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll BJP+ will get 236 seats and be forming government in the state. That's a loss of 89 seats after winning 325 seats in the UP assembly election 2017. Samajwadi Party is likely to get upwards of 135 seats almost 90 up from its previous tally.
For the 403-member UP legislative assembly, the polling process was almost a month-long with the first phase beginning on February 10th and seventh and the final phase was held on March 7.

BJP candidate Shalabh Mani Tripathi has won Deoria. Tripathi, who is UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s media advisor, defeated his nearest rival Samajwadi Party candidate Ajay Pratap Singh alias Pintu by a huge margin. In the year 2017 also this seat went to the account of the BJP.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has won the Gorakhpur Sadar seat by a margin of 1 lakh votes.
Yogi will be the first Uttar Pradesh chief minister (in the state's seven decades of elections) to retain power after completing a full term. None of the previous chief ministers, including the BJP's main rival in this election - Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav - were able to return to power. Apart from this, Yogi Adityanath will also be the first from the BJP to return to the state's top job in consecutive elections.
