'Sepoys Of Democracy' Return Only With A Certificate Of Victory: Akhilesh Yadav After Vote Counting Starts
As the counting of votes in the five states is underway, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter to thank the workers, supporters, leaders, office bearers, and well-wishers of the SP-gathbandhan.
New Delhi: As the counting of votes in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand is underway, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter to thank the workers, supporters, leaders, office bearers, and well-wishers of the SP-gathbandhan. Yadav, who contested from Karhal assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh, was leading in early trends.
Yadav said that ‘the test is yet to be done’. He thanked everyone associated with the SP-gathbandhan for being alert and consciously active day and night at the counting centres.

The SP Chief contested against SP Singh Baghel of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The counting of votes began in all the five states at 8 am, on Thursday, March 10.
In early trends, the BJP was leading in 205 seats, the SP in 103 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in five seats, and the Indian National Congress (INC) in four seats, in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the vote share of the BJP has over 40 per cent, and that of the SP is more than 30 per cent.
