'Na Batna Hai, Na Baatna Hai': Rajnath Singh Appeals In Maharashtra, Says Congress Allies 'Bound To Drown'

Singh took a jibe at the Congress saying that it is in such a bad shape that anyone who associated with it is bound to "drown", adding that its allies in Maharashtra would face the same fate.

Union minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday appealed to remain united in order to move towards a developed country and a developed Maharashtra, saying "Na batna hai, Na baatna hai". His remarks come at a time as the row over the slogan coined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath continues in the state ahead of the Assembly polls.

"Na batna hai, na baatna hai [You neither have divide yourself nor divide others]; the entire nation must stay together. We must remain united. If we avoid division, we will move toward progress and build a developed nation—and a more developed Maharashtra," he stated in a post on X.

Earlier today, the Union Defence Minister took a jibe at the Congress saying that it is in such a bad shape that anyone who associated with it is bound to "drown", adding that its in Maharashtra would face the same fate.

Whil addressing a campaign rally in Pune, Singh expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party and the ruling Mahayuti coalition would certainly win the November 20 Maharashtar Assembly polls.

"Congress ruled the country for a long time, but now its condition has become so precarious that anyone associated with it is bound to drown....In Maharashtra, Congress has piggy-backed on the Shiv Sena (UBT ) and NCP (SP), and their drowning is certain," the senior BJP leader said while campaigning for party's candidate from Shivajinagar constituency Siddharth Shirole.

He taunted the Congress over not being able to stand on its own feet, PTI reported.

"The (Lok Sabha) poll results were not as per our expectations in some states which included Maharashtra, Haryana and some three to five states. But in Haryana state elections, people reposed their faith in the BJP and we formed a government with a clear majority there. Now a similar situation will be repeated in Maharashtra," Singh said.

Singh further stated that India's stature was elevated at the global stage under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and claimed that over 25 crore Indians were brought out of poverty during this phase.

He further praised the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP government in Maharashtra for doing remarkable work in the last two-and-half years as he enlisted the schemes introduced by the the government. Singh also alleged that the Congress did not give the due credit and respect to Dr B R Ambedkar.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 20. The counting of votes will be held on November 23.
