Bonus On Wheat Procurement, Anti-Romeo Squad: BJP Releases Manifesto For Rajasthan Polls

Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday released its manifesto for the upcoming Rajasthan polls. The manifesto, 'Sankalp Patra' was released by BJP national president JP Nadda and party leader Vasundhara Raje in Jaipur. Through its manifesto, the BJP is looking for a comeback in the desert state by promising better prospects for the farmers, youth, and the women. 

Addressing the media after launching the 'Sankalp Patra', Nadda said that the manifesto is foucsed on three points — 'sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas; empowerment of women, youth, farmers, tribals; and stressing on infrastructure. 

If elected to power in the November 25 polls, the BJP would give Rs 2,700 per quintal on the procurement of wheat which would be a bonus on the minimum support price (MSP), Nadda said. 

Focusing on womens' security, the party has promised to set up women police station in every district of the state and constituting anti-romeo squad. 

The party will also launch a 'Laado Protsaahan Yojana', if it wins the polls, under which a savings bond of Rs 2 lakh will be opened up for every girl child born in the state and a monthly sum will be deposited after the girl would reach class 6th and the amount would subsequently increase as the level of education would move upwards. 

Nadda also said that meritorious girl students will be given a free scooter and training and financial support will be provided to 6 lakh women in the state. 

A monthly amount of Rs 1,200 has been promised for the students from economically weaker section through direct benefit transfer.

The party has also promised to set up Rajasthan Institute of Technology and Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences on the lines of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). 

If elected, the party will provide 2,50,00 government jobs, Nadda said, addding that 15,000 doctors and 20,000 paramedics will also be appointed.

Constitution of an SIT to probe paper leaks and other scams in the state has also been included in the manifesto.  

In a bid to attract the tourism sector, Nadda said a corpus fund of Rs 2,000 crore will be sanctioned. 

The 200-member Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will undergo polls in a single phase on November 25 and the votes will be counted on December 3.
