More Opportunities To Youth, Women, 1st-Time Candidates: Congress On Rajasthan Ticket Distribution

The Congress has said it has shown a strong commitment to the youth, women and first-time candidates in the ticket distribution for the Rajasthan Assembly Elections.

Guwahati: The Indian National Congress (INC) on Tuesday said that in a move towards enhancing diversity and inclusivity in the political landscape of Rajasthan, the grand old party has shown its strong commitment to promoting young leaders, women and first-time candidates in comparison to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 

MP Gaurav Gogoi, who heads the screening committee for the Rajasthan elections, said that the Congress has demonstrated its dedication to the empowerment and inclusion of underrepresented voices in politics, ensuring that the Rajasthan election ticket distribution process reflects these values. 

"The screening committee of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has worked diligently to give more opportunities to the youth, women and first-time candidates in Rajasthan. This commitment aligns with the party's long-standing tradition of providing a platform for the emerging leaders and ensuring a balanced representation in the political arena," Gogoi said.

Gogoi further said that the Congress party recognises the active participation of youth, women and first-time candidates, which is crucial for a vibrant and representative democracy. 

"By offering them more tickets for the upcoming Rajasthan elections, Congress aims to usher in a new era of progressive and inclusive governance in the state," Gogoi said.

"With this move, the Congress party reaffirms its commitment to shaping the political landscape in Rajasthan and fostering an environment where all voices are heard and represented. This approach not only demonstrates a forward-thinking attitude but also echoes the party's dedication to building a stronger and more inclusive Rajasthan," Gogoi added.

Rajasthan will go for polls on November 25 and the result will be declared on December 3 as the BJP eyes a return in the state and the ruling Congress looks to buck the revolving trend and retain power in the state. The BJP is leaving no stone unturned and is attacking the Gehlot government on issues of corruption charges, the law and order situation and women's safety.
