The comments made by the Congress leader points towards Kejriwal's overnight stay at the house of a former Khalistani terrorist in Punjab's Moga during the 2017 state elections.
Taking a further dig at the AAP convener, Rahul said, "Those who are making promises to you, saying 'ek baar mauka do', they will destroy Punjab. Punjab will burn, remember my words."
The Congress leader also spoke about Punjab being a border state and the security concerns that arise out of it. Arguing that only the Congress party understands the sensitivity of the region, he urged the people to vote his party back to power in the state.
"Punjab is a border and sensitive state and only the Congress party understands Punjab and can maintain peace in the state... we know if peace is gone then there will be nothing left," said Rahul Gandhi.
Election for the 117-member Punjab assembly will be held on February 20. Polling in the state was scheduled for February 14 but after demand from almost every key political parties on account of Guru Ravi Das Jayanti on February 16, the Election Commission changed the date of polls in the state.
