The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar group) make up Mahayuti.

Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader in Maharashtra, stated on Saturday that there have been no discussions about seat sharing among members of the state's ruling alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections, news agency PTI reported. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar group) make up Mahayuti. Speaking to reporters, the deputy chief minister stated that the Mahayuti administration is stable because all 200 MLAs are present, and that the state is performing well under Shinde's leadership.

He further stated that no discussions had taken place to discuss seat distribution for the forthcoming (Lok Sabha and assembly) elections in Maharashtra.

Talking with reporters, Pawar stated: "There is no discussion yet on seat sharing, but yes, we had discussed that the decision for seat sharing will be taken on the basis of elective merit (the winning capacity of the candidate on a particular seat )...Currently, five state elections are underway... After the elections, there will be a discussion on seat sharing."

On water management in the state, Pawar said: "There is a drought-like situation. A meeting will soon be held with the chief minister, deputy chief ministers and collectors to address the issue, and plans will be made to tackle the situation."

"I suffered from dengue for 15 days. However, some people claimed that I had a political illness, it is nothing like that. Some even alleged that I met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to complain. But, I am not the one to complain," Pawar was quoted by PTI in its report.
