Lok Sabha Elections 2019: As voting for the sixth and the penultimate phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is underway on as many as 59 constituencies spread across six states and the national capital, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday said that his party was hopeful of getting good results in the ongoing general elections. Scindia said this after exercising his franchise at the Gwalior Lok Sabha seat. “In a democracy, the fight is always interesting as it brings interesting results. And I am hopeful that in Madhya Pradesh the results will come in favour of the Congress,” news agency IANS quoted Scindia as saying. “Patriotism is not a personal property of a single party as it belongs to every citizen of the country,” Scindia said this while pointing out that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was raising the issue of nationalism in its political campaign. Slamming the earlier BJP-led NDA government for releasing Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) leader Masood Azhar, Scindia said: “A party under whose rule the biggest terrorist attack happened on Parliament and whose Foreign Minister escorted Masood Azhar to Pakistan should not talk about nationalism.” To a question about the BJP fielding Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal, Scindia said: “Every party has the right to field any candidate from anywhere and the people also have the right to elect the right candidate.” Scindia, who is seeking a re-election from Guna seat, went early in the morning to exercise his democratic right at a booth in his constituency after the polling began at 7 am. This is the third phase of polling in MP, the first and second phases for six and seven seats, respectively, having been held on April 29 and May 6. Even on the Bhopal seat, Congress veteran Digvijay Singh is locked in a battle with BJP's nominee and 2008 Malegaon blast accused Pragya Singh Thakur. In Guna, Scindia's opponent is the BJP's K P Yadav who is contesting his first parliamentary elections.
