Lok Sabha Elections: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Wednesday released a list of its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The second phase of the ongoing polls is set to take place on April 26. Voting will take place across India in seven phases till June 1, while counting will take place on June 4.
The BSP has fielded former state unit chief Bhim Rajbhar from Salempur seat. With this, the Mayawati-led party has declared its candidates for 65 seats out of total 80 parliamentary seats in the state.

The party also declared its candidate for the Dadraul assembly bypoll, fielding Sarvesh Chandra Mishra 'Dhandhu' from the seat. According to the list, Irfan Ahmed will be the candidate from the Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat, and Nirdosh Kumar Dixit from Hamirpur.
On Wednesday, the Congress released two lists of candidates. In one of the lists, the grand old party announced the names of contestants from Khammam, Hyderabad, and Karimnagar Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. In the second list, the Congress named its candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Lok Saba elections and Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh for two days from May 3 to campaign for the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, the BJP said. This will be PM Modi's second visit to the state after the announcement of the election schedule. Modi addressed a joint NDA meeting comprising TDP, BJP, and Janasena on March 17 in Palnadu district.
In the second phase of elections, 89 Lok Sabha seats across 13 states are set to go to polls on April 26. The voting will be held in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir.
