Assam Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pijush Hazarika was at in a poll meeting on Wednesday when he briefly paused his speech when 'Aazan' played out a nearby mosque. The elections to 10 of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies took place in the first two phases of voting for the Lok Sabha polls.
The voting for remaining four seats — Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Guwahati — is scheduled to take place in the third phase on May 7.
Elections in Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, took place in the first phase on April 19 while Karimganj, Silchar, autonomous district, Mangaldoi, and Nagaon went to polls on May 26 in the second phase.

Suresh Bora was the BJP candidate from the seat while sitting MP Pradyut Bordoloi is eyeing to retain his constituency and AIUDF fielded Aminul Islam.
Hazarika questioned opposition's allegation on electronic voting machines and said that whenever the Congress wins, there is no discussion on EVMs.

"Whenever Congress wins, then there is no discussion of EVM and VVPAT. When they won in Himachal Pradesh, did they oppose EVMs? Whenever the opposition loses, they blame the EVMs," he said.
"All these allegations are baseless. It is just their character. I hope we will win more than 400 seats. PM Narendra Modi will be the PM for the 3rd time. The BJP has done the work in the nation. They have increased the number of airports, highways, medical colleges, etc. That's why people support PM Modi," he added.
