The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday slammed Rahul Gandhi after the Congress leader held a joint press conference with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Both the I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders took a dig at the ruling BJP saying that if the saffron party is against nepotism in politics, it should pledge not to hand out tickets to any dynast and not accept any vote from any person who has a family.

Hitting back at the Opposition, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla said, "On one hand, there is the NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which is working with a mission and a vision that talks about taking this country's economy forward from 10th to 5th to 3rd position...On the other hand, there is an alliance, namely the INDI alliance which also talks about PDA. It can be called as 'Parivarik dynasty alliance'."

He said that the alliance lacks any kind of mission or vision for the country.

"All they have is 'Apna-Apna' commission, corruption and political ambition...," he added.

Further attacking Rahul Gandhi, Poonawalla said that the former Congress president is the "Nawab" of "pinning new lies" at every given occasion.

"One of the new lies that he has spread is that the BJP is going to impose 'one nation, one language' and that the BJP is all for 'one nation, one leader', he said, adding, "This kind of mindset of Rahul Gandhi comes from a political philosophy that has said, 'Indira is India and India is Indira'."

'We Are Not Scared': Oppn Hits Back

Hitting back, the Opposition said that the BJP was trying to deviate from real issues.

"...PM Modi and BJP leaders are not talking about issues of unemployment, inflation, farmers or women. They are trying to deviate us from the real issues. The media should ask him why all his party leaders are saying that they will change the Constitution," said Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

"What will happen to reservation and the rights of the people if they will change the Constitution?...We are not scared...," she added.

"...Those who will change the Constitution will themselves be destroyed," said Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav.
