Elections 2019 Phase 6: From Rahul Gandhi to Arvind Kejriwal, what key politicians said after exercising their franchise

Voting on as many as 59 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across six states and the national capital is underway and the fate of a total 979 candidates will be decided by over 10.17 crore voters today.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Voting on as many as 59 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across six states and the national capital is underway and the fate of a total 979 candidates will be decided by over 10.17 crore voters today. Over 1.13 lakh polling stations have been installed for smooth conduct of polls and several electorates including some prominent political leaders were among the early voters. Leaders including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Sushma Swaraj, BJP’s Bhopal candidate Pragya Thakur, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) East Delhi candidate Atishi Marlena, BJP's East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir, Congress' Guna candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia were among some early voters who turned up at the polling booths to cast their votes. After exercising their franchise, these leaders also spoke to media and urged voters to vote wisely to elect a better government for the country. Here’s what these eminent leaders from various political parties said: Congress president Rahul Gandhi Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday cast his vote for the Lok Sabha polls in New Delhi and hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he ‘used hatred’ during the elections but the grand old party ‘used love’. Asserting that the ongoing elections saw a good fight between the two rival parties, Gandhi said he thought that ‘love is going to win’. "PM Modi used hatred, we (Congress) love. And, I think love is going to win," Gandhi told reporters, soon after exercising his franchise. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal As the ongoing sixth phase elections include Delhi, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted seeking votes for those who worked and not for those ‘who spread hatred’. “Good morning Delhi. You must vote… for those who worked for you, not for those who spread hatred and stalled all work in Delhi,” the AAP convenor tweeted. Your vote can change the country,” he wrote on Twitter. BJP Bhopal Candidate Sadhvi Pragya BJP Candidate from Bhopal Sadhvi Pragya on Sunday turned up at the polling booth in Bhopal to cast her vote. “In the biggest festival of democracy, I also cast my vote. I request each and every citizen of India to go and cast their valuable votes. Casting vote is our national duty and we should do this in the national interest. This is our bit in the process of nation-building," she told reporters after exercising her franchise. AAP East Delhi Candidate Atishi Marlena AAP Candidate from East Delhi, Atishi on Sunday morning cast her vote at a polling booth in Kamla Nehru Govt Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Jangpura, New Delhi."People of Delhi have full faith on Aam Admi Party because, for the first time, they have seen a party which fulfilled all their promises. We work for the common people of Delhi and this is the reason because of which the people of Delhi will vote for AAP," said after casting her vote.
