After Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) announced the name of Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya to contest upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Bihar, Deputy CM and BJP leader Vijay Sinha took a jibe at her, saying that the "daughter who has now moved to Singapore will contest elections here from there," news agency ANI reported. Slamming Lalu Yadav he stated: "No respect for daughters in Bihar."


He further stated: "The people of Bihar will decide whom to go with -the one who is committed to Bihar or the one who will work in Singapore." 


Exuding confidence in BJP's victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls in Bihar, he stated: "The PM will be visiting Bihar. We will not only win all 40 seats but witness a historic win in Bihar." 






RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from the Saran Lok Sabha constituency as an RJD candidate, will commence her election campaign today. Speaking with media, she stated: "I am going among the public. I have got the blessings of my parents and in-laws. I will do a road show there."






She is up against BJP leader and four-term Lok Sabha member Rajiv Pratap Rudy and will commence her public contact programme in the constituency from Tuesday.


Rohini has become the sixth member of the Lalu-Rabri family to enter politics. Her elder sister Misa is contesting from the Patliputra constituency for the third time, while brothers Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav are MLAs and former ministers.


Rohini, a doctor based in Singapore, is married to Samresh Singh, a computer engineer and businessman. In 2022, she donated one of her kidneys to her ailing father.


Despite being new to politics, Rohini has been active on social media for several years, defending her father and other family members, and occasionally criticising their opponents.
