BJP Announces Election In-Charges For 4 States, Pralhad Joshi Gets Rajasthan

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been made the poll in-charge of Rajasthan, along with co in-charges Nitin Patel and Kuldeep Bishnoi.

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced the names of the election in-charges and co in-charges of poll-bound Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been made the poll in-charge of Rajasthan, along with co in-charges Nitin Patel, former Gujarat deputy chief minister, and Haryana leader Kuldeep Bishnoi.

In Chhattisgarh, along with senior party leader Om Prakash Mathur, Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya will work as co-in-charge.

Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been announced the election in-charge for Madhya Pradesh. He will work with Ashwani Vaishnav as co in-charge.

In poll-bound Telangana, former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar will be the election in-charge, with party's national general secretary Sunil Bansal as co-in-charge.

Taking a dig at Telangana Chief Minister KCR, BJP’s poll in-charge Prakash Javadekar said the KCR government has failed the people of Telangana and the voters are very angry with the current dispensation, news agency PTI reported.

The decision came hours after a meeting chaired by party president JP Nadda and was attended by senior leaders from different states, as the BJP steps up its campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The meeting comes ahead of assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram that are scheduled to be held later this year.

BJP workers from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman Diu-Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana took part in the meeting.

Friday’s meeting comes a day after a similar meeting that was held with leaders, mostly from eastern and northeastern states, in Guwahati. Also, BJP leaders from southern states and Maharashtra will meet in Hyderabad on Sunday.

According to a report by PTI, the themes of the meeting have been "sewa, sushashan and garib kalyan (service, good governance, welfare of the poor)", with the primary focus on achievements and new initiatives of the government.

It is to be noted that the saffron party has stepped up its organisational activities with the party ramping up its campaign to retain power at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
