BJP Retains Key Portfolios, JP Nadda Gets Health Ministry, Former CMs Shivraj And Khattar Get Significant Roles

BJP former President Jagat Prakash Nadda, who was inducted into the Union Cabinet on Sunday, was made the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government on Monday announced the list of portfolios retaining top ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman and S Jaishankar.

Rajnath Singh was made the Union Cabinet Minister for Defence Ministry, while Amit Shah was made the Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation and Nitin Gadkar got the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was given Minister of Agriculture and Family Welfare and Minister of Rural Development, while Manohar Lal Khattar was given Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister of Power respectively. 

Nirmala Sitharaman got Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs while Jaishankar retained Ministry of External Affairs. Mansukh Mandaviya, who served as the union health minister at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, was on Monday appointed as India's new sports minister, replacing Anurag Thakur in the union cabinet.

HD Kumaraswamy, JD(S) leader and NDA ally, got Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, while HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has said Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Piyush Goyal has got Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Dharmendra Pradhan has got Minister of Education, Rajiv Ranjan Singh got Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Sarbananda Sonowal got Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Jyotiraditya Scindia has been given the charge of Minister of Communications and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region.

Giriraj Singh has got Textiles, Bhupender Yadav has got Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Annpurna Devi Minister got Women and Child Development, Hardeep Singh Puri got Petroleum and Natural Gas. 

Ashwini Vaishnaw has got Minister of Railways, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology.

Sukanta Majumdar is Minister of State for education and Development of North Eastern Region, Tokhan Sahu is MoS for housing and Harsh Malhotra is MoS for road transport and corporate affairs. Nimuben Bambhaniya is MoS for consumer affairs and Pabitra Margherita is MoS for external affairs and textiles.
