Bollywood’s original Khiladi Akshay Kumar has turned newsman to interview Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the 24-second teaser Kumar uploaded to his Twitter account, he can be seen sitting beside Modi in a well-furnished verandah at Delhi's 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, which is the Prime Minister's official residence. Akshay informed that it is an informal and non-political conversation that he got the chance to do with PM Narendra Modi.
I sleep for 3-4 hours a day. My body cycle has become such that I don't feel like having more sleep. Even Barack Obama asked me once how do you keep yourself active by sleeping so less. But one thing I will do after retirement is to explore how to sleep for more than 3-4 hours: PM Modi
PM Modi tells Akshay Kumar: I ever I get Alladin's magical lamp, I will ask it to tell all educationists to never tell their students the story of Alladin's magical lamp.
Akshay Kumar asks Narendra Modi if he is truly a Gujarati as Gujaratis are very particular about their money. This made Modi laugh out loud.
PM Modi: I have no bank account before being a CM. During childhood, we were once required to open an account, but no money was deposited in it. After being the CM we had to open the account. When I was about to become the PM, I thought what will I do with the money? Officers also asked me how will you manage the money. So I gave away a part of the money - Rs 21 lakh - to children of drivers.
PM Modi said he has friends from the opposition parties too. 'I have many friends in Opposition parties. We are good friends. Whenever we get time, we have lunch together. Mamata didi (Mamata Banerjee) sends me Bengali sweets even now,' PM said.
PM said his mother has visited him a few times but adds that he gave up family life at a very early stage in his life and is now detached. 'Infact my mother tells me 'why are you wasting time on me', PM Modi told Akshay Kumar.
Narendra Modi said: If something which I don't like has happened, I would sit alone and write everything on a paper. I would write what I did and why I did that. Then I would tear that paper and throw it away. I wouldn't even read it again. Then I would write it again. This is how the anger inside me would burn out.
PM Modi said: I am strict and disciplined. But I never intend to demean anyone. While serving as CM of Gujarat, I don't remember I was angry with any officer or any one else in the office. Anger gives rise negativity.
To this PM replied, 'During childhood, I used to see soldiers etc, used to be inspired. When Faujis used to come, I would go to visit them with tea, used to enjoy it. I heard about an Army School in my area. So I went to meet the head. I also met head of Ramakrishna Mission. He used to love me a lot, explain and talk about love. These were new experiences. By 18-22, I travelled a lot, learnt a lot. But there was a confusion too. Did not start out to be the PM, but life took its own shape.'
