Thiruvananthapuram: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr. Shashi Tharoor from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 15470 votes. The polling / voting in Thiruvananthapuram constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Congress Party#s Shashi tharoor and Bharatiya Janata Party#s Kummanam Rajasekharan

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Indian National Congress won 8 out of the 20 parliamentary seat with 31.1 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 5 seats with a 21.6 percent vote share.

पीएम मोदी ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि हमारे देश में ऐसे बुद्धिमान और तेजस्वी लोग हैं जो आलू से सोना बनाते हैं. वो काम हम नहीं कर सकते, न मेरी पार्टी कर सकती. जिसको आलू से सोना बनाना है वो उनके पास जाये, हम ऐसा नहीं कर सकते. हम तो कोल्ड स्टोरेज बनाएंगे, आलू का वैल्यू एडिशन बढ़ाएंगे और आलू से चिप्स बनवा सकते हैं और किसानों की आय दोगुना करने के प्रयास कर रहे हैं.
