Tenkasi: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Vasanthi.M from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 161774 votes. The polling / voting in Tenkasi constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Puthiya Tamilagam party#s Dr. K. Krishnasamy and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s Dhanush Kumar

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Bharatiya Janta Party; here All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 887 votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated TMC(M) candidate by a margin of 97267 votes ADMK candidate Murugesan,S. had got 270053 while TMC(M) got Arunachalam.M votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, TMC(M) candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 95926 votes TMC(M) candidate Arunachalam, M. had got 290663 while INC got Selvaraj V. votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Arunachalam M. attained 381721 votes and DMK's Sadhan Thirumalaikumar T. bagged 199635 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate M.Arunachalam attained 393075 votes and CPM's R.Krishan bagged 220368 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate M. Arunachalam attained 360517 votes and CPM's R. Krishnan bagged 168950 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Arunachalam M. attained 272260 votes and JNP's Rajagopalan S. bagged 163944 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated DMK candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Arunachalam M. attained 305069 votes and DMK's Rajagopalan S. bagged 118193 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 68910 votes INC candidate A. M. Cnellachami had got 223182 while NCO got R. S. Arumugam votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and SWA here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his SWA counterpart with a difference of 5746 votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 71440 votes INC candidate M. P. Swamy had got 165169 while CPI got S. A. Muruganandam votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and CPI here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his CPI counterpart with a difference of 4800 votes.

बीजेपी ने घोषणापत्र में कहा कि 200 नए केंद्रीय विद्यालयों और नवोदय विद्यालयों का निर्माण किया जाएगा. साल 2024 तक एमबीबीएस और स्पेशलिस्ट डॉक्टरों की संख्या दोगुनी करना लक्ष्य है.

बीजेपी ने घोषणापत्र में कहा कि गरीबी रेखा से नीचे रहने वाले परिवारों की संख्या को घटाकर 10% से भी कम करना लक्ष्य है. 5 किलोमीटर के दायरे में बैंकिंग सुविधाएं दी जाएगी.
