Shimla: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Virender Kashyap from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 84187 votes. The polling / voting in Shimla constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Suresh Kashyap and Congress Party#s Dr. Col. Dhani ram shandil

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 4 out of the 4 parliamentary seat with 53.31 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 40.7 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, HVC candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 46930 votes. Here, HVC leader Lt. Col. Dhani Ram Shandil attained 264002 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Gangu Ram Musafir bagged 217072 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 42025 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Karishan Datt Sultanpuri attained 307861 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Virender Kashyap bagged 265836 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 91133 votes INC candidate K D Sultanpuri had got 261965 while BJP got Virender Kashyap votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 46860 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Krishan Dutt Sultanpuri attained 209406 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Roop Dass Kashyap bagged 162546 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 56990 votes INC candidate Krishan Dutt Sultan Puri had got 201912 while BJP got Balak Ram votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Krishan Dutt Sultanpuri attained 244010 votes and JNP's Kirpal Dharampuri bagged 47719 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 35134 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Krishan Dutt attained 136841 votes and JNP candidate Balak Ram bagged 101707 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 87291 votes BLD candidate Balak Ram had got 172763 while INC got Zalam Singh votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated NCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Partap Singh attained 136789 votes and NCO's Rup Singh Phul bagged 9238 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 33130 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader P. Singh attained 72870 votes and BJS candidate S. Singh bagged 39740 votes

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली के घर पहुंच गए हैं. यहां वो उनसे मुलाकात कर रहे हैं. सूत्रों के मुताबिक पीएम मोदी अरुण जेटली से उनके दोबारा मंत्रिमंडल में शामिल न होने के फैसले पर दोबारा विचार करने के लिए कहेंगे. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आने की तैयारी के तहत अरुण जेटली के घर के बाहर एसपीजी पहले ही पहुंच चुकी थी.
