Background

Peddapalle: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Balka Suman from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won the elections by a margin of 291158 votes. The polling / voting in Peddapalle constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telangana Rashtra Samithi#s Borlakunta Venkatesh Nethani and Congress Party#s A.chandra sekhar

Peddapalle 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 11 out of the 17 parliamentary seat with 33.9 percent vote share while the Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 17 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Peddapalle, 15 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Balka Suman of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi as he defeated G. Vivekanand by a margin of 291158 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Telugu Desam Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate G. Venkat Swamy attained 572207 votes and TDP's Dr.Mt. C. Suguna bagged 309072 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 15889 votes. Here, Telugu Desam Party leader Dr.Smt.C. Suguna Kumari attained 406529 votes and Indian National Congress candidate G.Venkat Swamy bagged 390640 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Telugu Desam Party and Indian National Congress here Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 6174 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 65465 votes INC candidate G. Venkat Swamy had got 313498 while TDP got Suddala Devaiah votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Telugu Desam Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate G. Venkat Swamy attained 251019 votes and TDP's Suddala Devaiah bagged 141054 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 30635 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader G.Venkat Swamy attained 320628 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Gotte Bhoopathy bagged 289993 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 46958 votes. Here, Telugu Desam Party leader Gotte Bhoopathy attained 246334 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Ganta Srihari bagged 199376 votes
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate K. Rajamallu attained 198106 votes and CPI's P. Rajalingaiah bagged 88266 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BLD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate V. Tulsiram attained 209187 votes and BLD's Bangaru Lakshman bagged 104110 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, TPS candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TPS candidate V. Tulasiram attained 165054 votes and INC's M. R. Krishna bagged 56323 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 72195 votes INC candidate M.R. Krishna had got 155550 while IND got Palanivelu votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 84021 votes INC candidate M.R. Krishna had got 149561 while CPI got Palanivelu votes.
