Background

Nagaland: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Neiphiu Rio from Naga People's Front (NPF) won the elections by a margin of 400225 votes. The polling / voting in Nagaland constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between National People's Party#s Hayithung Tungoe and Congress Party#s K.l. Chishi

Nagaland 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Naga People's Front won 1 out of the 1 parliamentary seat with 68.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 30.1 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 87.82% Lok Sabha percent with 88.15% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes.   • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate K. Asungba Sangtam attained 516119 votes and IND's Shurhozelie bagged 162521 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated LS candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate K. Asungba Sangtam attained 344223 votes and LS's Akhei Achumi bagged 52785 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Imchalemba attained 472102 votes and IND's Khekiho bagged 274699 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, NPC candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 51854 votes NPC candidate Imchalemba had got 328015 while INC got Shikiho Sema votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated NPC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Shikino Sam attained 363071 votes and NPC's Vizol bagged 239124 votes.

  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, UFN candidate defeated NNO candidate with a difference of 31003 votes. Here, UFN leader A. Kevichusa attained 89514 votes and NNO candidate S. Chubatoshi Jamir bagged 58511 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between NNO and ; here NNO candidate defeated his counterpart with a difference of 0 votes.

मालेगाव : निवडणुकीच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर मालेगाव मध्ये पोलिसांनी अवैध हत्यार, गुन्हेगारांविरोधात जोरदार मोहिम घडली असून स्थानिक गुन्हे शाखेच्या पथकाने कोम्बिंग ऑपरेशन राबवत जुना आग्रारोड परिसरात छापा टाकून शस्त्राचा साठा जप्त करत तिघांना अटक केली.

ऐनवेळी नाट्यमयरित्या राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे तिकीट अमरसिंह पंडित ऐवजी बजरंग सोनवणे यांना जाहीर झाल्याने आणि गेवराई मतदारसंघातील राष्ट्रवादीच्या कार्यकर्त्यांसह जिल्ह्यातील राष्ट्रवादीच्या कार्यकर्त्यांतून संताप व्यक्त केला आहे. तिकीट वाटपावरून अमरसिंह पंडित यांना डावलल्याची भावना राष्ट्रवादीच्या कार्यकर्त्यांत आहे. आपल्याला चटके देणारे काही दिवे तेच असतात ज्यांना आपण वाऱ्यामुळे विझताना वाचलेलं असतं असं म्हणून विजयसिंह पंडित यांनी आपला रोख धनंजय मुंडे यांच्याकडे वळवला आहे,अशी चर्चा आहे.

लोकसभा निवडणुकांच्या अनुषंगाने पिंपरी चिंचवड पोलिसांनी ही कारवाईचा धडाका सुरू केलाय. मध्यरात्री तपासणी मोहीम करत पोलिसांनी 66 गुन्हेगारांना ताब्यात घेतलं. गुरुवार आणि शुक्रवारच्या मध्यरात्री एक वाजता पोलिसांनी ही मोहीम राबवली. 7 पोलीस निरीक्षक, 20 सहाय्यक पोलीस निरीक्षक-पोलीस उपनिरीक्षक आणि 170 पोलीस कर्मचाऱ्यांचे पथक या मोहिमेत सहभागी झाले होते. एकाच वेळी शहरातील मोहननगर, यशवंतनगर, रामनगर, दत्तनगर, फुलेनगर, शंकरनगर, विद्यानगर सह आसपासचा परिसर पिंजून काढला गेला. पहाटे सहा पर्यंत सुरू असलेल्या तपासणी मोहिमेत, 173 पैकी 66 आरोपींच्या पोलिसांनी मुसक्या आवळल्या.
