Mehsana: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Patel Jayshreeben Kanubhai from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 208891 votes. The polling / voting in Mehsana constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Shardaben Patel and Congress Party#s A j patel

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 26 out of the 26 parliamentary seat with 60.11 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 33.45 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 55735 votes INC candidate Patel Atmaram Maganbhai had got 340445 while BJP got Dr A K Patel votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Dr. A.K.Patel attained 338368 votes and INC's Mansinh Sursinh Thakor bagged 213034 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Dr. A.K. Patel attained 264740 votes and INC's Patel Manilal Virchanddas bagged 139589 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 82022 votes BJP candidate A.K. Patel had got 251605 while INC got Patel Babaldas Shankardas votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate A.K.Patel attained 387797 votes and INC's Chaudhary Motibhai Ranchhodbhai bagged 252467 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 43896 votes. • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Patel Maniben Vallabhbhai attained 240776 votes and INC's Patel Natvarlal Amratlal Gagabhai bagged 118664 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, NCO candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 97314 votes NCO candidate Natwarlal Amrutlal Patel had got 181057 while INC got Sankalchandbhai Kalidas Patel votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, SWA candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 36946 votes. Here, SWA leader R.J. Amin attained 191205 votes and INC candidate S.P. Patel bagged 154259 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and SWA here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his SWA counterpart with a difference of 6938 votes.

चुनाव आयोग ने एक और बड़ा फैसला लिया है. चुनाव आयोग ने आजम खान के चुनावी प्रचार पर 72 घंटे और मेनका गांधी के चुनाव प्रचार पर 48 घंटे का बैन लगाया है. बता दें कि आजम खान ने रामपुर से बीजेपी प्रत्याशी और अभिनेत्री जयाप्रदा को लेकर अभद्र टिप्पणी की थी. वहीं मेनका गांधी ने समुदाय विशेष को लेकर बयान दिया था.

अखिलेश यादव ने कासगंज में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा कि दिल्ली की सरकार ने कहा था कि हम मेक इन इंडिया बनाएंगे, सब भारत में बनाएंगे लेकिन बताओ क्या भारत में बन रहा है? बीजेपी के लोग कहते हैं कि नया भारत बनेगा लेकिन हम कहते हैं कि नया भारत तभी बनेगा जब पी एम नया बनेगा और अभी के प्रधान मंत्री फेल हो चुके हैं. अखिलेश यादव ने ये भी कहा कि हमारे गठबंधन को महामिलावटी कहते है तो फिर उनके 38 पार्टियों के गठबंधन को क्या नाम दिया जाएगा?

गुजरात में चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान एक सभा को संभोधित करते हुए बीजेपी अध्यक्ष अमित शाह ने कहा कि सपा, बसपा और कांग्रेस सभी इकट्ठा होकर लड़ रहे हैं. एसपी के नेता आजम खान ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी की महिला प्रत्याशी जया प्रदा पर जो एकदम घिनौनी टिप्पणी की, वो मातृ शक्ति का अपमान है. जयाप्रदा पर टिप्पणी सिर्फ उन पर टिप्पणी नहीं है वह देश की करोड़ों महिलाओं पर टिप्पणी है. मैं सपा पार्टी से, मैडम मायावती से और राहुल गांधी जी से पूछना चाहता हूं कि वो आजम खान की टिप्पणी के साथ सहमत हैं या नहीं हैं. आजम खान की टिप्पणी देश की महिला शक्ति का अपमान है. मात्र शक्ति का अपमान है. हम सब सार्वजनिक जीवन में माताओं का सम्मान करते हैं महिलाओं का सम्मान करते हैं. चुनाव जीतने के लिए इतनी नीची और गंदी भाषा का प्रयोग अच्छा नहीं है. मेरी सपा और बसपा के नेताओं से मांग है कि देश की मां और बहनों से माफी मांगें.

चुनाव आयोग का बड़ा फैसला. आदर्श आचार संहिता के उल्लंघन के आरोप में बीएसपी सुप्रीमो मायावती पर 48 घंटे के लिए चुनावी मुहिम पर रोक लगा दी है. आयोग के फैसले के मुताबिक मायावती कल सुबह 6 बजे से अगले 48 घंटों के लिए न तो चुनाव प्रचार, न रोड शो या कोई इंटरव्यू नहीं दे पाएंगी. चुनाव आयोग ने 16 अप्रैल सुबह 6 बजे से 72 घण्टे तक योगी आदित्यनाथ के प्रचार पर भी रोक लगाई.

जम्मू कश्मीर के अनंतनाग जिले में पीडीपी अध्यक्ष महबूबा मुफ्ती के वाहनों के काफिले पर उस समय पथराव हुआ जब वह एक दरगाह से लौट रही थीं. अधिकारियों ने बताया कि महबूबा अनंतनाग जिले में खिराम की एक दरगाह में गई थी और बिजबेहरा लौट रही थी जब यह घटना हुई.
