Jabalpur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rakesh Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 208639 votes. The polling / voting in Jabalpur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Rakesh Singh and Congress Party#s Vivek tankha

Jabalpur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Jaishree Banerjee ( Bhabhi Ji) attained 300648 votes and INC's Chandra Mohan bagged 190894 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 84115 votes BJP candidate Dada Baburao Paranjpe had got 300584 while INC got Dr. Alok Chansoria votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 93680 votes BJP candidate Dada Baburao Paranjape had got 256621 while INC got Sarvankumar Patel votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 6722 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Baburao Pranjpe attained 273163 votes and INC's Ajainarain Mushra bagged 171391 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Ajay Narayan Mushran attained 256911 votes and BJP's Babhurao Paranjpe bagged 134588 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 77526 votes INC(I) candidate Munder Sharma had got 172408 while JNP got Rajmohan Gandhi votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 75891 votes BLD candidate Sharad Yadav had got 194516 while INC got Jagdish Narain Awasthy votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 92121 votes INC candidate Govind Das had got 139370 while BJS got Baboorao Paranjpe votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 64730 votes INC candidate G. Das had got 139427 while BJS got S. Chandra votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JS candidate by a margin of 55782 votes INC candidate Govind Das had got 105185 while JS got Jagannath Prasad Dwivedi votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 40953 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Seth Govinddas Diwan Bahadur attained 85212 votes and PSP candidate Maheshdutta Chandragopal bagged 44259 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated SP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Govind Das Maheshwari attained 212914 votes and SP's Khuman Singh bagged 78248 votes.
