Hyderabad: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Asaduddin Owaisi from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won the elections by a margin of 202454 votes. The polling / voting in Hyderabad constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen#s Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress Party#s Firoz khan

Hyderabad 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 11 out of the 17 parliamentary seat with 33.9 percent vote share while the Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 16 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad, 14 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Asaduddin Owaisi of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as he defeated Dr.Bhagavanth Rao by a margin of 202454 votes.

• 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha poll, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen candidate defated Telugu Desam Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, AIMIM candidate Asaduddin Owaisi attained 308061 votes and TDP's Zahid Ali Khan bagged 194196 votes.
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, AIMIM candidate Asaduddin Owaisi attained 378854 votes and BJP's G.Subash Chanderji bagged 278709 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 60821 votes AIMIM candidate Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi had got 448165 while BJP got Baddam Bal Reddy votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 71612 votes AIMIM candidate Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi had got 485785 while BJP got Baddam Bal Reddy votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 73273 votes AIMIM candidate Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi had got 321045 while BJP got M. Venkaiah Naidu votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, MIM candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 39524 votes. Here, MIM leader Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi attained 454823 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Baddam Bal Reddy bagged 415299 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, MIM candidate defated Telugu Desam Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, MIM candidate Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi attained 403625 votes and TDP's Teegala Krishana Reddy bagged 270547 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Independent and Telugu Desam Party here Independent candidate defeated his Telugu Desam Party counterpart with a difference of 3481 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 31564 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader K.S. Narayana attained 166868 votes and JNP candidate Ale Narendra bagged 135304 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 65068 votes INC candidate K. S. Narayana had got 156295 while IND got Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, TPS candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 49412 votes. Here, TPS leader G. S. Melkote attained 134941 votes and IND candidate Badr-Ud-Dintyabji bagged 85529 votes
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 45585 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader G. S. Melkote attained 115709 votes and IND candidate V. R. Rao bagged 70124 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 43069 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Gopal S. Melkote attained 96447 votes and IND candidate Abdul Wahed Owasi bagged 53378 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 57358 votes INC candidate Vinayak Rao had got 77153 while IND got C. Srikishan votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PDF candidate with a difference of 15660 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ahmed Mohiuddin attained 70004 votes and PDF candidate Makhdoom Mohiuddin bagged 54344 votes
