Godda: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Nishikant Dubey from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 60682 votes. The polling / voting in Godda constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Nishikant Dubey and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik)#s Pradeep yadav

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Godda Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 65.98% Lok Sabha percent with 66.65% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 65.25% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 12410 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 16 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Godda, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Nishikant Dubey of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Furkan Ansari by a margin of 60682 votes.

Here, Indian National Congress leader Furkan Ansari attained 373138 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Pradeep Yadav bagged 346384 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate by a margin of 79892 votes BJP candidate Jagdambi Prasad Yadav had got 221191 while JMM got Suraj Mandal votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate by a margin of 75680 votes BJP candidate Jagdambi Prasad Yadav had got 334015 while JMM got Suraj Mandal votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 56185 votes BJP candidate Jagdambi Prasad Yadav had got 222866 while JD got Salauddin Ansari votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JMM candidate Suraj Mandal attained 259348 votes and BJP's Janardan Yadav bagged 155200 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Janardhan Yadav attained 308134 votes and JMM's Suraj Mandal bagged 126701 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Saminuddin attained 192465 votes and BJP's Falguni Prasad Yaddav bagged 72092 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 30342 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Samin Udin attained 127223 votes and JNP candidate Jagdambi Prasad Yadav bagged 96881 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Jagdambi Prasad Yadav attained 250749 votes and INC's Jagdish N. Mandal bagged 91758 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 21862 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader P. H. Singhka attained 81560 votes and BJS candidate S. Tulsiyan bagged 59698 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JP candidate with a difference of 19585 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Prabhudayal Himmatsingka attained 78558 votes and JP candidate Mohan Singh Oberoi bagged 58973 votes
