Fatehpur Sikri: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Babulal from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 173106 votes. The polling / voting in Fatehpur Sikri constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Raj Kumar Chaher and Bahujan Samaj Party#s Rajveer Singh

Fatehpur Sikri 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 61.24% Lok Sabha percent with 64.51% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 28 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Fatehpur Sikri, 25 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Babulal of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Seema Upadhyay by a margin of 173106 votes.

Addressing a press conference ahead of first phase of Lok Sabha election on April 11, former chief election commissioner S Y Quraishi said there cannot be a separate law for social media which should be treated as any other mass media. He said political leaders and parties must get prior approval of the EC before posting anything on social media websites and they should also declare the expenditure incurred in using social media.
