Dhanbad: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Pashupati Nath Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 292954 votes. The polling / voting in Dhanbad constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Pashupati Nath Singh and Congress Party#s Kirti azad

Dhanbad 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated MCO candidate with a difference of 14226 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rita Verma attained 366065 votes and MCO candidate A K Roy bagged 351839 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated MCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Rita Verma attained 442590 votes and MCO's A.K. Roy bagged 263901 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 22196 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rita Verma attained 269942 votes and JD candidate Shamresh Singh bagged 247746 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated M-COR candidate by a margin of 85299 votes BJP candidate Rita Verma (W) had got 257066 while M-COR got A.K. Roy votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, M-COR candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 13571 votes. Here, M-COR leader A.K.Roy attained 247013 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Samresh Singh bagged 233442 votes
