Chennai North: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Venkatesh Babu .T.G from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 99704 votes. The polling / voting in Chennai North constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam#s R. Mohan Raj and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s Kalanidhi Veerasamy

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Chennai North Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 63.99% Lok Sabha percent with 65.68% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 40 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chennai North, 38 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Venkatesh Babu .T.G of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Girirajan .R by a margin of 99704 votes.
