Background

Bolpur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Anupam Hazra from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 236112 votes. The polling / voting in Bolpur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Ram Prashad Das and All India Trinamool Congress#s Asit Kumar Mal

Bolpur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Communist Party of India candidate defated All India Trinamool Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Somnath Chatterjee attained 464199 votes and AITC's Suniti Chattaraj bagged 277810 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defated WBTC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Somnath Chatterjee attained 470645 votes and WBTC's Gour Hari Chandra bagged 219553 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Somnath Chatterjee attained 471549 votes and INC's Sunil Das bagged 217903 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Chatterjee Somnath attained 394496 votes and IND's Jivan Mukhopadhyay bagged 167872 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Communist Party of India candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Chatterjee Somnath attained 421483 votes and INC's Sachinandan Sau bagged 257890 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 60931 votes CPM candidate Saradish Roy had got 317749 while INC got Nihar Dutta votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 68629 votes CPM candidate Saradish Roy had got 264798 while INC(I) got Pranab Kumar Mukherjee votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 35951 votes. Here, Communist Party of India leader Saradish Roy attained 128963 votes and CPI candidate Durga Banerjee bagged 93012 votes
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 36625 votes. Here, Communist Party of India leader Saradish Roy attained 115591 votes and INC candidate Phulrenu Guha bagged 78966 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPM candidate with a difference of 13632 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader A. K. Chanda attained 131761 votes and CPM candidate S. Roy bagged 118129 votes

अमित शाह ने कहा कि मौजूदा गठबंधन के साथ ही एनडीए आगे बढ़ेगा और हमें पूरा विश्वास है कि गठबंधन की 300 से ज्यादा सीटें आएंगी. पूर्ण बहुमत की सरकार आएगी लेकिन नए साथियों के लिए दरवाजे खुले हैं.

अमित शाह ने साध्वी प्रज्ञा सिंह ठाकुर के सवाल पर कहा कि उनके और दो अन्य नेताओं के दिए गए बयान पर पार्टी को खेद है और उनके खिलाफ अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई करने के लिए प्रक्रिया शुरू की गई है. साध्वी प्रज्ञा सिंह ठाकुर को कारण बताओ नोटिस भी जारी किया गया है. साध्वी प्रज्ञा सिंह ठाकुर ने जो कहा है वो उनकी निजी राय है.

अमित शाह ने कहा कि बंगाल में बीजेपी के 80 कार्यकर्ता मारे गए हैं और हम देश के हर भाग में चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं. ममता बनर्जी सिर्फ पश्चिम बंगाल में चुनाव लड़ रही हैं और वहीं हिंसा क्यों हो रही है. ये सवाल उनसे पूछा जाना चाहिए.
