Background

Bijnor: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kunwar Bhartendra from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 205774 votes. The polling / voting in Bijnor constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s KunwarBharatendra Singh and Bahujan Samaj Party#s Malook Nagar

Bijnor 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate had defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate by a margin of 80175 votes RLD candidate Munshiram S/O Sri Ramcharan Singh had got 301599 while BSP got Ghan Shyam Chandr Kharwar votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 23700 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Sheeshram Singh Ravi attained 214266 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Omwati Devi bagged 190566 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janta Party here Samajwadi Party candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 9212 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 27417 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Mangal Ram Premi attained 220806 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Satish Kumar bagged 193389 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate by a margin of 87734 votes BJP candidate Mangal Ram Premi had got 247465 while BSP got Mayawati (W) votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Bahujan Samaj Party and JD here Bahujan Samaj Party candidate defeated his JD counterpart with a difference of 8879 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated LKD candidate by a margin of 99813 votes INC candidate Girdhar Lal had got 219185 while LKD got Mangal Ram Premi votes.

  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Mahi Lal attained 258663 votes and INC's Ram Dayal bagged 62849 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Swami Ramanand Shastri attained 144728 votes and BKD's Mahi Lal bagged 40900 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 32781 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. R. Nand attained 103874 votes and BJS candidate S. Ram bagged 71093 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 49193 votes. Here, Independent leader Prakash Vir Shastri attained 125777 votes and INC candidate Abdul Lateef bagged 76584 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 39008 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Abdul Lateef attained 123181 votes and BJS candidate Bhudeo Singh bagged 84173 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 95669 votes INC candidate Mahavir Tyagi had got 122141 while BJS got J. R. Goyal votes.
