Background

Begusarai: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bhola Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 58335 votes. The polling / voting in Begusarai constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Giriraj Singh and Rashtriya Janata Dal#s Tanveer Hasan

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 22 out of the 40 parliamentary seat with 29.4 percent vote share while the Lok Janshakti Party managed to win just 6 seats with a 6.4 percent vote share.

Here, Indian National Congress leader Rajo Singh attained 318244 votes and Janata Dal (United) candidate Shyam Sundar Singh bagged 298294 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SAP candidate by a margin of 52907 votes INC candidate Rajo Singh had got 296475 while SAP got Krishana Sahi votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 25924 votes. Here, Independent leader Ramendra Kumar attained 282191 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Krishna Sahi bagged 256267 votes

A total of 14,735 students had achieved A+ in 2018, while this year this number has gone down with 14,244 students securing A+ grade. Maximum A+ grades registered in the Mallapuram district.

Stream-wise, 86.04 per cent qualified in science department, 79.82 in Humanities while 84.65 in commerce. In the technical department, 69.72 per cent passed while the performance of fine arts was at 93.59 per cent.
