Arakkonam: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Hari, G. from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 240766 votes. The polling / voting in Arakkonam constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Pattali Makkal Katchi#s A. K. Moorthy and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s S. Jagathrakshakan

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate defated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, PMK candidate Velu, R. attained 386911 votes and ADMK's Shanmugam. N bagged 284715 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 95644 votes DMK candidate Jagathrakshakan, S. Dr. had got 346520 while INC got Thangka Balu, K.V. votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated TMC(M) candidate with a difference of 49488 votes. Here, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Gopal C attained 359431 votes and TMC(M) candidate Velu A.M. bagged 309943 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, TMC(M) candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TMC(M) candidate Velu.A.M attained 425974 votes and INC's Raviram.R bagged 161129 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Jeevarathinam R. attained 348516 votes and DMK's Kannaiyan M. bagged 171806 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate by a margin of 62393 votes INC candidate Jeevarathinam, R. had got 299587 while DMK got Murthy, K. votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate by a margin of 60942 votes INC candidate R. Jeevarathinam had got 292606 while DMK got Pulavar K. Govindan votes.
