Amreli: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kachhadiya Naranbhai Bhikhabhai from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 156232 votes. The polling / voting in Amreli constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Naran Bhai Kchhadia and Congress Party#s Paresh dhanani

Amreli 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 26 out of the 26 parliamentary seat with 60.11 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 33.45 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 54.42% Lok Sabha percent with 58.84% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Amreli, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Kachhadiya Naranbhai Bhikhabhai of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Thummar Virjibhai Keshavbhai (Virjibhai Thummar) by a margin of 156232 votes.

Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Dileep Sanghani attained 217670 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Virjibhai Thummar bagged 181346 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Dileep Sanghani attained 264814 votes and INC's Kotadia Manubhai Naranbhai bagged 142641 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Dileep Sanghani attained 223548 votes and INC's Navinchandra Ravani bagged 115179 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated JD(G) candidate by a margin of 96601 votes BJP candidate Dilipbhai Sanghani had got 235950 while JD(G) got Kotadiya Manubhai Naranbhai votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, JD candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JD candidate Manubhai Kotadiya attained 281279 votes and INC's Navichandra Premananddas bagged 161387 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 37868 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ravani Navinchandrabhai Parmananddas attained 208205 votes and Independent candidate Pateldwarkadas Mohan Lal bagged 170337 votes
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Ravani Navinchandra Parmananddas attained 174241 votes and JNP's Jasvant Mehta bagged 74103 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 59006 votes INC candidate Dwarkadas Mohanlal Patel had got 140586 while BLD got Gondhiya Narsinhdas Gordhandas votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated NCO candidate with a difference of 38818 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Jivraj Narayan Mehta attained 124893 votes and NCO candidate Narsinhdas Gordhandas Gondhiya bagged 86075 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 49588 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader J.V. Shah attained 117812 votes and PSP candidate N.C. Shah bagged 68224 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated PSP candidate by a margin of 65018 votes INC candidate Jayaben Vajubhai Shah had got 139459 while PSP got Mathuradas Harjivandas Maheta votes.

प्रदेश के संयुक्त मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी रमेश चंद्र राय ने बताया कि दूसरे चरण में राज्य की आठ सीटों नगीना, अमरोहा, बुलंदशहर, अलीगढ़, हाथरस, मथुरा, आगरा तथा फतेहपुर के लिये शाम छह बजे तक औसतन 62.30 फीसदी मतदान हुआ.

अमरोहा लोकसभा सीट पर शाम 5 बजे तक 64 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ जबकि फतेहपुर सीकरी लोकसभा सीट पर शाम 5 बजे तक 60% मतदान की खबर है.

यूपी की आठ लोकसभा सीटों पर वोटिंग जारी है. दोपहर तीन बजे तक शांतिपूर्ण माहौल के बीच करीब 50 प्रतिशत वोट पड़ चुके हैं. हालांकि कुछ जगहों पर ईवीएम खराब होने की भी सूचना है.
