West Bengal Board Exams For Class 10, 12 Postponed Due To Covid-19; Revised Schedule Soon

West Bengal Board Exams 2021: As per the latest announcement made by WBCHSE, the West Bengal Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12 will be held once the Covid situation improves in the state.

West Bengal: In the wake of rising cases of Coronavirus in the state, and extended lockdown, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has decided to postpone board exams 2021 for classes 10 and 12 until further orders.

As per the latest announcement made by WBCHSE, the West Bengal Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12 will be held once the Covid situation improves in the state. West Bengal chief secretary Alapan Banerjee on Saturday said that a new date sheet and revised schedule will be announced around two weeks in advance.

The WBCHSE had earlier announced that Class 10 exams will start from June 1 while  class 12 board exams at home centers will start from June 15. 

The move has come at the time when West bengal continues to witness spike in Covid cases. As per the health bulletin issued by the state health department, West benagl on Friday registered its highest single-day spike of 20,846 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 10,94,802. The toll rose to 12,993 after 136 more people, including five eminent doctors, succumbed to the infection, the bulletin said.

Witnessing the spike, West Bengal Govt has announced fresh restrictions till May 30. The Mamata Banerjee government announced the complete lockdown for 14 days starting May 16.
