UPSC Prelims 2025 On May 25: Must-Read Exam Day Guidelines, Timings & Instructions

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam is on May 25th, with sessions at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Entry closes 30 minutes prior to each session.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Preliminary Examination of Civil Services tomorrow, May 25. The exam will be counted in two sessions. The morning session will begin at 9:30 am, and the afternoon session starts at 2:30 pm. 

The entry to the examination centre will close 30 minutes before the start of each shift, making 9:00 am and 2:00 pm the final gate-in times. The candidates are advised to reach the examination centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam; otherwise, they will not be allowed to give the exam.

Things To Carry Inside Examination Hall

  • No entry in the examination hall will take place with a hard copy of the admit card.

  • A valid photo ID is necessary for the candidates to take along with them.

  • The candidates are also advised to take a new passport-size photo to the exam centre if the photo on the admit card is unclear.

  • The candidates must also take a ballpoint pen to fill the OMR sheet. A blue ballpoint should be used.

Items Prohibited Inside the Exam Hall

  • Any kind of handbag or bag is not allowed.

  • Mobile phones are strictly not permitted.

  • Digital devices like smartwatches are also not allowed.

  • The students should not take any kind of printed material, like notes or books, among others.
