UPSC CSE Mains 2024 Exam Dates: Civil Services Mains Exam From September 20, Check Schedule

UPSC CSE Mains 2024 Exam: The Civil Services mains exam will be held from September 20-29 in two sessions daily.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the exam dates for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains 2024. UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam will take place from September 20 to 29, with two sessions each day: the morning session from 9 am to 12 noon and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Those who cleared the prelims exam are eligible for the mains exam. UPSC declared the prelims result on July 1, revealing that 14,627 candidates had cleared the preliminary exam.

UPSC Prelims Exam was conducted by the commission on June 16, 2024, in two shifts. Over 13.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. The UPSC aims to fill 1,056 vacancies through this examination, including 40 seats reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

General Studies Papers: Papers 2 to 5 cover different areas of General Studies.

Indian Language Paper: Paper A is language-specific, chosen by the candidate.

Optional Subject Papers: Papers 6 and 7 cover subjects chosen by the candidate from a list of optional subjects.

Each paper is descriptive in nature and has a specific duration and marks allocation.
