UP TET 2021 Notification Postponed Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic - Check Details

UP TET 2021: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to postpone the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 in view of the surge in the number of covid-19 cases across the state. Earlier, the UP TET 2021 notification was scheduled to be released on May 11, 2021.

According to the schedule released by the UP Basic Education Department, the online registration process for the UPTET 2021 was schedule to begin from May 18, 2021, and conclude by June 1, 2021. The UP TET 2021 examination was scheduled to be conducted on July 25, 2021. 

The Exam regulatory authority had sent a proposal to the state government regrading the postponement of the UP TET 2021 examination in view of the covid-19 pandemic. The state government has accepted the proposal. 

The UP TET 2021 examination is conducted to fill vacancies of teachers in state government-run primary and upper primary schools.  As many as 16,34,249 candidates had registered to appear for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2019, out of which, 10,68,912 candidates had registered to appear in the UP TET 2019 examination at primary level while 5,65,337 for the upper-primary level UPTET examination. The board had conducted the UPTET 2019 examination on January 8, 2020, at various centres spread across Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates who wish to apply for the UP TET 2021 examination should have passed BTC, BEd or other National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved courses.
